Another Win for Cheshire Baseball Teams

Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but Reds 8U fell to Comets 10U 12-10 on Wednesday. Comets 10U collected seven hits, while Reds 8U had six.

Reds 8U got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Oliver T walked, and Liam S stole home, each scoring one run.

Comets 10U tied the game up in the top of the second thanks to two walks. Comets 10U tied the game at two on a walk by Tristan O.

Reds 8U took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Antonio F walked, and Nick M stole home, each scoring one run.

Comets 10U tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a walk by Trevor A, and a steal of home by Trevor A.

Reds 8U took the lead in the bottom of the third. Oliver T drew a walk, scoring one run, to give Reds 8U the upper hand, 5-4.

Comets 10U flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 9-6 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Eric H on a full count that drove in two.

Reds 8U tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a double by Liam S, and a steal of home by Liam S.

In the top of the sixth, Comets 10U broke up the tie when Evan D drew a walk, scoring one run. Then a double by Jack F followed to extend the lead to 12-9.

Grant S began the game for Reds 8U. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit and one run over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one. Eric H opened the game for Comets 10U. The starting pitcher allowed zero hits and two runs over one inning, striking out three and walking three.

Liam S provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Reds 8U with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Oliver T led Reds 8U with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Liam S, Gio B, Oliver T, Bryce P, Emelio P, and Nick M each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U. Reds 8U stole 21 bases in the game.

Leadoff hitter Jack F led Comets 10U with three hits in four at bats. #24 collected two hits for Comets 10U in two at bats. Ross M paced Comets 10U with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 14 walks for the game. Trevor A, Jack F, Eric H, Tyler K, Ross M, and #24 each stole multiple bases for Comets 10U. Comets 10U stole 28 bases in the game.
