8u Reds take two from Middletown

Reds 8U were victorious against Monarchs 8U 10-6 on Saturday at Cheshire Reds.

Reds 8U opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two singles. Reds 8U first got on the board when Luke F singled, scoring one run.

Reds 8U added one run in the second after Dom G stole home.

Reds 8U scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Liam S singled, scoring one run, Tyler P hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs, and Bryce P doubled, scoring two runs.

Luke F stepped on the hill first for Reds 8U. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking none. Luke V stepped on the bump first for Monarchs 8U. The starting pitcher surrendered 13 hits and 10 runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking two. Dom G and Antonio F each appeared in relief for Reds 8U.

Reds 8U accumulated 13 hits in the game. Bryce P seized on their opportunities, leading Reds 8U with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Grant S went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Reds 8U in hits. Luke F and Tyler P each collected multiple hits for Reds 8U. Luke F, Tyler P, Colin L, Liam S, Oliver T, Dom G, and Antonio F each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U. Reds 8U ran wild on the base paths, amassing 18 stolen bases for the game. Reds 8U turned one double play in the game.

Reds 8U Trounce Monarchs 8U

Reds 8U easily dispatched Monarchs 8U on Saturday at Cheshire Reds, 12-3.

They got on the board in the top of the first inning after Tyler P grounded out, Liam S singled, and Nick M grounded out, each scoring one run.

The Reds added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Oliver T singled, Oliver T stole home, and Antonio F singled, each scoring one run.

A ground out by Nick M extended the Reds 8U lead to 7-1 in the top of the third inning.

Reds 8U scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Gio B singled, scoring one run, Antonio F singled, scoring one run, Luke F doubled, scoring one run, Liam S drew a walk, scoring one run, and Nick M singled, scoring one run.

Tyler P started the game for Reds 8U. He gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. The Monarchs surrendered seven hits and seven runs (six earned) over three and one-third innings, with three strikeouts and no walks. Liam S appeared in relief for Reds 8U.

Reds 8U collected 12 hits in the game. Grant S, Liam S, and Antonio F each collected two hits for Reds 8U. Liam S and Antonio F each drove in two runs for Reds 8U. Grant S, Liam S, Oliver T, and Bryce P each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U. Reds 8U stole 16 bases in the game.
