Strong Showing From Both Offenses In Reds 8U Loss To Cheshire Comets 10U

Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but Reds 8U fell to Comets 10U 15-11 on Wednesday. The Comets collected 10 hits, while the Reds had four.

The Comets got on the board in the top of the first inning after Grant F singled, Joey M walked, Dante J walked, and Tyler K walked, each scoring one run.

They added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Jack F singled, scoring one run, Grant F singled, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored two runs.

When Joey M stole home the Comets pushed the lead to 8-3.

The Reds came storming back to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Tyler P doubled, Liam S singled, Dom G walked, and Emelio P walked, each scoring one run.

However, the Comets pushed across six runs on three hits to take a 15-11 lead in the 6th. The biggest blow in the inning was a big double by Jack F that drove in two.

Bryce P led things off on the hill for Reds 8U. He allowed one hit and four runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking six. Jack F stepped on the mound first for Comets 10U. He surrendered zero hits and three runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking six.

Luke F, Tyler P, Liam S, and Nick M each collected one hit for Reds 8U. Tyler P, Liam S, Gio B, Oliver T, Dom G, Emelio P, Antonio F, and Nick M each drove in one run for the Reds. Reds 8U had patience at the plate, accumulating 15 walks for the game. Dom G and Bryce P led the team with three walks each. Luke F, Tyler P, Grant S, Liam S, Dom G, and Bryce P each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U, all in all stealing 17 bases in the game.

Comets 10U accumulated 10 hits. Jack F and Grant F were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Comets 10U. Grant F led them with three hits in four at bats. Tristan O and Dante J each collected multiple hits for Comets 10U. Joey M led Comets 10U with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks. Joey M, Jack F, Grant F, Jackson D, Tyler K, and Dante J each stole multiple bases for Comets 10U. Comets 10U ran wild on the base paths, piling up 18 stolen bases for the game.

Next up for Reds 8U is a doubleheader in Middletown on Saturday.
