The Cheshire Reds 8U team put on a complete performance Friday night, shutting out the Mission City Baseball 8U Cobras 10–0 at home. Behind electric pitching, timely hitting, and flawless defense, the Reds continue to build momentum this season.
Ethan P got the offense started early with a first-inning double, giving Cheshire Reds 8U a quick lead. The real damage came in the third inning, when the Reds exploded for five runs. Cam P’s two-run single, Tommy C’s two-run double, and a bases-loaded walk drawn by Owen S helped break the game wide open.
Starting pitcher Nick M was nearly untouchable, tossing three innings of no-hit baseball with eight strikeouts and no walks. He also achieved the rare immaculate inning, striking out the side on just nine pitches in the third. Liam P came in for a clean inning of relief, adding three more strikeouts to seal the shutout.
At the plate, the Reds showed patience and power. Ben M, Owen S, Ethan P, Tommy C, and Cam P each recorded hits. Tommy C led the team with two RBIs, while the lineup collectively drew 12 walks, with Collin W, Luca C, and Nick M each earning two free passes. On the basepaths, the Reds were aggressive and smart, stealing 10 bases — led by Ben M, Nick M, and Cam P.
Defensively, Cheshire Reds 8U played an error-free game, with Owen S leading the way with six defensive chances.
The Reds will look to stay hot as they travel to face CT Titans 8U on Sunday.
