Cheshire Reds 8U Defeat Tucci Elite

The score was back and forth all game, with early runs being scored by some sloppy defense and solid baserunning.

In the bottom of the fourth, Tucci Elite broke up the tie when Jackson W drew a walk, scoring one run. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 5-3.

The Reds 8U captured the lead, 7-5, in the top of the fifth when Dom G singled, scoring one run, Bryce P singled, scoring one run, and Colin L tripled, scoring two runs.

Luke F stepped on the bump first for Reds 8U. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and three runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out seven and walking two. Xavier I stepped on the mound first for Tucci Elite. They allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking three. Grant S tossed one inning of no-run ball for Reds 8U in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out three and walking none.

Tyler P and Colin L each collected two hits for Reds 8U. Colin L led Reds 8U with two runs batted in. The leadoff hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Tyler P, Dom G, and Nick M each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U. Reds 8U ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 12 stolen bases for the game.

Jackson W led Tucci Elite with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. William R, Lucas V, and Ford F each collected one hit for Tucci Elite. Tucci Elite had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Xavier I and Lucas V led the team with two free passes each.

Reds 8U Trounce Tucci Elite

Reds 8U easily dispatched Tucci Elite in the second game of a double-header on Sunday, 11-3.

Reds 8U got on the board in the first inning after Liam S doubled, scoring one run.

Reds 8U added one run in the second after Reds 8U scored on a wild pitch.

Reds 8U scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. Colin L singled, scoring one run, #2 induced Tyler P to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Liam S doubled, scoring two runs, and a wild pitch scored one run.

Tyler P started the game for Reds 8U. They allowed two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking two. #2 started on the bump for Tucci Elite. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and 10 runs (seven earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking five. Liam S appeared in relief for Reds 8U.

Tyler P and Liam S were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Reds 8U. Liam S provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Reds 8U with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-2 on the day. Bryce P and Nick M each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U. Reds 8U had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Reds 8U stole seven bases in the game.

Next up for Reds 8U is a scrimmage in Newtown on Monday.
