The Cheshire Reds 8U had a big day on Sunday, sweeping a doubleheader against the CT Titans 8U with wins of 15-3 and 15-9, fueled by explosive offense, aggressive baserunning, and solid pitching performances.

Game 1: Ethan P Drives In 4 To Lead Reds Past Titans

Cheshire Reds 8U jumped on CT Titans 8U early in Game 1, thanks to a big game from Ethan P, who drove in four runs on three hits. His two-run single in the first inning and two-run double in the fourth helped the Reds pull away for a commanding 15-3 victory.

The Reds plated five runs in the first inning behind Ethan P’s clutch hit, a two-run groundout by Tommy C, and an RBI single by Liam P. They continued the onslaught in the third and fourth innings, combining for 10 more runs.

On the mound, Ethan P earned the win with two innings of work, allowing three runs while striking out four. Owen S came in to close the door with two shutout innings in relief, striking out three.

Offensively, the Reds collected 12 hits, with Ethan P and Cam P each notching three-hit games. The team also swiped seven bases, keeping pressure on the Titans throughout.

Game 2: Cheshire Reds Rally Late to Complete the Sweep

Game 2 showcased the Reds' toughness and resilience. Despite falling behind by five runs early, Cheshire Reds 8U battled back for a thrilling 15-9 win.

CT Titans jumped out to a 6-2 lead after two innings, but the Reds chipped away thanks to key hits from Nick M and patient at-bats that led to bases-loaded walks by Ethan P, Tommy C, Liam P, and Mason C.

After briefly surrendering the lead again in the fourth inning, Cheshire Reds stormed back. Big plays included a clutch RBI single by Tommy C, a run-scoring walk by Mason C, and an aggressive steal of home by Ben M to spark a five-run inning that flipped the game for good.

Cam P earned the win, delivering three strong innings of one-hit, three-run ball while striking out four. Ben M, Owen S, and Nick M led the offense with multi-hit games, while the team as a whole worked 11 walks and racked up 14 stolen bases.
