Colin L collected three hits in three at bats, as Reds 8U defeated Trumbull Travel 8U Black 14-6 on Sunday. Colin L singled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Reds 8U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Luke F singled, and Tyler P doubled, each scoring one run.

Andrew C hit a solo inside the park home run in the bottom of the first for the Trumbull Travel 8U Black.

Reds 8U added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Liam S doubled, Emelio P singled, Colin L singled, and Luke F singled, each scoring one run.

Reds 8U extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI walks by Bryce P and Grant S.

Trumbull Travel 8U Black scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Connor O drew a walk, scoring one run, Andrew C hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs, and Michael L doubled, scoring two runs.

Reds 8U scored five runs on one hit in the top of the fifth inning. Dom G grounded out, scoring one run, Emelio P drew a walk, scoring one run, and Tyler P tripled, scoring three runs.

Luke F earned the win for Reds 8U. They allowed one hit and one run over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. James N stepped on the hill first for Trumbull Travel 8U Black. The lefty surrendered 12 hits and 13 runs over four and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking nine. Bryce P appeared in relief for Reds 8U.

Reds 8U piled up 13 hits in the game. Tyler P provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Reds 8U with four runs batted in. They went 2-for-3 on the day. Luke F and Liam S each collected multiple hits for Reds 8U. Bryce P led Reds 8U with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Tyler P, Colin L, Gio B, Oliver T, Dom G, Bryce P, and Emelio P each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U. Reds 8U ran wild on the base paths, collecting 22 stolen bases for the game. Reds 8U accumulated 10 hits in the game. Tyler P and Liam S each collected two hits for Reds 8U. Grant S, Liam S, Nick M, and Dom G each drove in two runs for Reds 8U. Reds 8U had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Grant S and Gio B led the team with two bases on balls each.
