Reds 8U Defeat Monarchs 8U In High-Scoring Affair

Bats were blistered as Reds 8U beat Monarchs 8U 14-11 on Saturday. Reds 8U collected 16 hits, while Monarchs 8U had six.

Reds 8U opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to four singles. Reds 8U first got on the board when Tyler P singled, scoring one run.

Reds 8U extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Nick M and Grant S.

Monarchs 8U flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on two hits to take a 8-7 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a steal of home by Abigail A that drove in two.

Reds 8U captured the lead, 11-8, in the top of the fourth when a passed ball scored one run, Oliver T singled, scoring one run, and Grant S doubled, scoring two runs.

Monarchs 8U tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a walk by Nicky C, and an error.

Reds 8U took the lead, 14-11, in the top of the fifth thanks to singles by Bryce P, Gio B, and Antonio F.

Liam S began the game for Reds 8U. They surrendered one hit and three runs over two innings, striking out three and walking two. Rocco C opened the game for Monarchs 8U. The righty gave up 16 hits and 14 runs over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking three. Luke F pitched one inning of zero-run ball for Reds 8U in relief. The reliever gave up two hits, striking out three and walking none.

Reds 8U collected 16 hits in the game. Tyler P, Grant S, Liam S, Gio B, Bryce P, and Antonio F each collected two hits for Reds 8U. Grant S and Bryce P each drove in three runs for Reds 8U. Luke F, Gio B, and Antonio F each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U. Reds 8U ran wild on the base paths, piling up 10 stolen bases for the game.

Tyler Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Reds 8U Take The Win Over Monarchs 8U

Tyler P collected three hits in three at bats, as Reds 8U defeated Monarchs 8U 13-4 on Saturday. Tyler P doubled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Monarchs 8U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Avery C singled, and Reds 8U committed an error, each scoring one run.

Reds 8U flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on five hits to take a 5-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Liam S that drove in two.

Reds 8U added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Tyler P doubled, Colin L singled, and Liam S grounded out, each scoring one run.

Reds 8U scored five runs on seven hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Camden Y induced Nick M to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Oliver T singled, scoring one run, Luke F singled, scoring one run, Tyler P singled, scoring one run, and Liam S singled, scoring one run.

Luke F led things off on the bump for Reds 8U. The righty surrendered two hits and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking two. Camden Y started on the bump for Monarchs 8U. They gave up 16 hits and 13 runs over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one. Grant S and Emelio P each came on in relief for Reds 8U and shutdown Monarchs 8U.

Reds 8U tallied 16 hits in the game. Luke F, Tyler P, and Colin L each collected three hits for Reds 8U. Luke F, Colin L, and Liam S each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U. Reds 8U ran wild on the base paths, piling up nine stolen bases for the game.

Next up is a scrimmage with the Cheshire Comets 10U team on Wednesday.
